Head of Planning: Stephen Hurr
The Building Control, Development Control, and Development Planning services are combined within one division of the Development Department. The services are delivered from County Hall, in Haverfordwest.
The Building Regulations exist to ensure the health and safety of people in and around buildings, promote energy efficiency and make access to and use of buildings easier for everyone. The aim of the Building Control section of Pembrokeshire County Council is to help ensure that building works achieve these objectives. Building Control must therefore be effective in the interest of building users, but must also be efficient to minimise cost and delay for those carrying out building work. Our aim is to deliver a high quality, effective and efficient level of service.
Building Control intends to provide and improve its services, support the corporate objectives of Pembrokeshire County Council wherever possible and meet the demands of local people.
In addition to processing plans submitted under Building Regulations and inspecting building works in progress, the Building Control section also deals with matters relating to dangerous structures and demolitions.
